Doors Open Toronto - Canoeing the Black Creek & Digital Constellations

In-Person at InterAccess

As part of Doors Open Toronto, InterAccess will have a special presentation of Canoeing the Black Creek by Dave Kemp and Digital Constellations: Making Our Own Seat at the Table, an augmented reality (AR) exhibition of Indigenous artists, curated by Amanda Amour-Lynx and co-presented by Indigenous Youth Roots. Kemp's immersive artwork documents through a surreal and unsettling digital model of an unusual and historically complicated creek, playing with the inherent aesthetic nuances of photogrammetric processes: holes, distortions, and an overall "goopy-ness." Meanwhile, Digital Constellations is a mesmerizing scene floating gracefully in the vast expanse of an astral cyberspace that resists linear time and makes way for two-spirit mentorship and regalia-making in the digital ether.
The doors will also be open to our production studio. Come explore the space, engage with interactive technologies, and see where new media art gets made.
