Kaboos: An exhibition of nightmares

Mehrnaz Abdoos

Through exploring one’s dream world, you may come across clues about your “real” life...

A personal narrative of the artist, Kaboos exhibits Mehrnaz Abdoos’ nightmares and how she pieces her life together with them through a 3D rendered environment.

In Abdoos’ life, “art” and “nightmares” have served the same purpose; both helping her search inside for missing pieces and fill in the gaps through evoking extreme emotions.

Nightmares have been reflective of the artists’ feelings of trying to fit in the world and understand her purpose.

As I find love for life and understand how to enjoy my existence my nightmares fade away...

“The nightmare exhibition” explores a purgatory-like state in which the viewer is stuck in the past, looking for a way to leave. It’s an interactive experience that ties nightmares to feelings and memories through exploration of 3D scenes and handwritten notes, making Kaboos: An exhibition of nightmares a form of relief.
