IA Gateway: 2024 Project Proposals
In direct response to artists’ diminishing access to space in the city, InterAccess is launching IA Gateway, a program that opens our gallery space to the community at no-cost with a low-barrier application process.
The gallery is available between May – June 2024 for new media projects, including, but not limited to, gallery installations, immersive projections, or development of works in progress.
TO APPLY
Project proposals must be submitted through this application form.
Proposals are due March 4, 2024 at 11:59PM.
Application accessibility:
The entirety of the questions can be accessed in plain list format here.
Find long forms difficult, gruelling, or hell on earth? No problem! Drop in during one of our office hours and you can chat through all these details with Evangeline Brooks, InterAccess's Programming Manager in lieu of a formal application. Sign-up for a slot here or pop in during office hours.
Office hours are drop-in over InterAccess’s Discord server and can be used by interested applicants to ask questions about the application process, eligibility, or logistics. To gain access to InterAccess’s Discord server, please email art@interaccess.org with subject line: “Discord Invite Request”.
For a more formalized presentation of the application process, please attend the online info session on February 13, 2024, 3:30–4:30PM ET, registration required here.

GALLERY INFORMATION
InterAccess’s gallery is 39’-1” x 17’-10” with a ceiling height of 15’-2”.
We regret that at this time InterAccess does not have barrier-free access; we are currently working to improve the accessibility of all facilities. There are five steps (with railings) up to our main entrance, with automatic doors. Once inside all facilities are on the same level, and there is an accessible single-user washroom inside the unit.
Gallery floorplan and images are available upon request to art@interaccess.org
SELECTION PROCESS
Project proposals will be selected by InterAccess’s Programming Committee based on alignment with InterAccess's Programming Policy and organizational mandate, demonstrated need for access, and scheduling constraints.
Participants are responsible for their own travel.
Any additional questions? Reach out to art@interaccess.org or drop into office hours.
ABOUT IA GATEWAY
The InterAccess Gateway (IA Gateway) program facilitates low-barrier, no-cost access to gallery space for new media artists within our community. “Gateway” is an entry point; the term refers to network gateways, telecommunication devices that allow for the flow and translation of data between separate networks – an apt metaphor for the responsibility of organizations to provide resources and support to the artists in their community.
