Never Ever Whole

Presented as the 13th iteration of the annual Emerging Artist Exhibition at InterAccess, Never Ever Whole showcases new media works by Britta Evans-Fenton, Rob Donnelly, Maria Tsylke and Anna Hawkins that reflect on the impossibility of accessing the entirety of something.

Rob Donnelly, One Must Eradicate, 2013, installation view

Maria Tsylke, Mother's Energy Tools, 2012/2013, installation view

Anna Hawkins, Venus, 2011, installation view

This collection of works consider the impulse to relentlessly pursue the whole, despite its elusive nature. Each artist in Never Ever Whole articulates the complicated pursuit of wholeness through a series of divided images, blurred messages, concealed texts and abstract auras. How does technology mediate, hinder or exacerbate the pursuit of this whole? The works in this exhibition each point to a particular instance of technological intervention in the endless quest for an experience of totality.

Curated by Natasha Chaykowski and Nancy Webb.
