Intro to 3D Scanning!

In this workshop, participants will follow the workflow of 3D scanning an object, manipulating the model, and exporting files. Participants will work with the NextEngine 3D scanner and Autodesk 123Design. 

The workshop will focus on creating files for 3D printing. You are welcome to register for Intro to 3D Printing! and learn to print your files in the afternoon.

3D scanning can also be used in game design and animation. These ways of creating work starting with a 3D scan will be discussed using online examples. An intermediate course on the use of 3D scanning for game design and animation is being develeoped for Spring/Summer 2016.

Bring an object to scan, or work with objects provided by the instructor.

Time: 10am-12pm

Registration Fee: $30 With Annual Studio/Workshop Pass (see below); $40 Regular Price

Material Fee: None.

What, if any, prerequisite knowledge should students have? None. Experience in any 3D modelling software is beneficial.

About the Instructor: Dante Nocera enjoys many facets of design, and takes knowledge from many different areas to then apply to the 3-D world. Dante is the 3D Studio Technician at InterAccess.
