Create a Discord Bot!
Together we will explore the wonderful world of online communities and Discord servers. Now more than ever it is important to stay connected and continue to build community spaces. Discord is a powerful online tool to create virtual community space and help you stay connected using text, voice and video. To customize your Discord you can use bots to automate parts of your server experience. Join Tess Sutherland to learn how to use code to customize your own!
Javascript or code experience helpful but not required! Discord experience helpful but also not required, we will start from the very basics.

- Download a text editor. I recommend Atom or Visual Studio Code. Install here: Get Atom || Get Visual Studio Code
About the Instructor:
Tess Sutherland currently works as a New Media Specialist at Ryerson University, a Makerspace Technician at the Royal Ontario Museum, and teach coding, electronics, & robotics at InterAccess. Tess is a graduate of the Ryerson New Media program and is currently pursuing a certificate in Aboriginal Knowledges and Experiences. Professional highlights include: experience designing Thymio Playground for TIFF Kids digiPlayspace, partnering with Philip Beesley's studio for the 2020 Venice Biennale (postponed), and designing BitMorph for the Ontario Science Centre.
