Introduction to Photogrammetry

In-Person Workshop - Register Here!

Are you curious to digitize physical objects or spaces into photorealistic 3d models? This hands-on workshop will be an introduction to the basics of photogrammetry and will provide an overview of the workflow to capture, process, cleanup and optimize the results. By the end of the session, participants will have a 3D model that can be published online, serve as inputs to gaming engines or be used in the InterAccess 3D printing workshops in June. The final part of this workshop will illustrate how to scale this approach to larger physical spaces.

Participants are welcome to bring a few non-shiny* physical objects (bigger than an apple, smaller than a microwave) and their own camera (phones are ok, preferably a DSLR + tripod). A laptop (minimum requirements will be provided) may also be brought to process your data. There will be opportunities to participate or simply follow along with the provided demos.

(* the reason for this will be described, although beautiful errors may be intentionally desired and explored)
