Summer Sampler Series: Processing Quick Class
Quick, Cheap, Fun, and Really, Really Useful.
InterAccess' Summer Sampler workshops are 2-hour mini classes intended for artists and creatives with little or no experience in electronics, microcontrollers, or coding. At just $10 a pop, both of our Summer Sampler Sessions are intended to introduce you to the interactive media tools you need to tackle that ambitious summer project you've been dreaming of.
In the Processing Quick Class, you'll learn the basics of creative coding, using the Processing language.
From Processing.org:
Processing seeks to ruin the careers of talented designers by tempting them away from their usual tools and into the world of programming and computation. Similarly, the project is designed to turn engineers and computer scientists to less gainful employment as artists and designers.
It's the computer-programming cousing of Arduino, and it's a fantastic way to jump into creating digital artwork. In our session, we'll introduce you to the development environment, some basic commands to make your first generative digital artwork, and do some very basic image manipulation.
Bring a laptop computer if you can, and download the free Processing software from processing.org. If you can't bring a laptop, no problem! Just let us know and we'll fix you up with a loaner.
