Workshop: Electronics Fabrication with Rob Cruickshank
From Breadboard to Biennale!
About the workshop:
Getting your project working in the lab is only the first step! We'll show you how to build it to survive, and to look good while doing it. Topics include:
How to solder.
How to choose appropriate wire and cable for your project, and techniques for wiring, including splicing and cable management.
How to use materials such as heat-shrink tubing to make your project safer and more reliable.
How to work with printed circuit boards-installing AND removing components, and how to mount the board itself.
How to deal with incorporating Arduino boards into a permanent project.
How to build enclosures, and neatly and safely mount components such as potentiometers and switches.
Special attention will be given to audio cable and connectors- you'll learn the difference between speaker cable and microphone cable, and how to install your own connectors.
