ast week, we learned Rhinoceros, a powerful 3D modelling software frequently used in 3D fabrication. This week, we'll plug in a powerful Rhino add-on called Grasshopoper to create elaborate parametric forms. It's an increasingly popular tool among architects and designers, as an easy tool for creating shapes based on complicated math. Interface-wise, it sort of looks like Max or Pure Data, but for 3D modelling.

In a 3 hour crash course, we will cover the basics of generating and editing 3D models ready to print with a 3D printer.
We'll be using Rhinoceros, a powerful 3D modelling software well-suited to creating models for fabrication, and the MakerBot Replicator 2 3D printer.
This class will be an introduction to computer modeling and rapid prototyping. At the end of the workshop we will use Interacces' 3D printer to print our models!

NOTE: This is a 2-session workshop taking place on March 9th and 10th, from 11AM-5PM. The registration fee includes BOTH days, and includes all the materials you'll need.About the workshop:
Introduction to Electronics is a valuable prerequisite for anyone wishing to work with microcontollers, such as the Arduino, or anyone looking to take their first steps in making electronic media art. This workshop is for anyone without previous experience in electronics, or those who’ve had some, but need a refresher.
Jan 31 - Feb 21, 2013
NOTE: Sorry, registration is full! What is this Raspberry Pi I keep hearing about?
The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer. It’s remarkably powerful and versatile, and is probably going to become an essential gadget for new media artists and makers. What’s the catch? It runs on Linux! So we’ll learn how to use the embedded Linux operating system on the Raspberry Pi board to open up a whole world of project possibilities.
Jan 23 - Feb 6, 2013
NOTE: This is a 3-part workshop, taking place on Thursdays January 23, January 30, & February 6th, FROM 7-10PM each night.
If you've seen a piece of interactive, robotic, or electronic art recently that made you say "How'd they do that?" there's a pretty good chance that the answer is: "Arduino." This tool is proving to be endlessly versatile as it inspires growing numbers of artists, hobbyists, and makers to take on interactive projects.
